Rural
tourism become nowadays an option to enjoy free time right in the
nature, at places characterized by the presence of forests, rivers,
mountains, and wild flora and fauna.
“La
Ahumada” is located in the region of Tarifa, into the
“Alcornocales” natural park, where wonderful landscapes of
mountains, valleys, water, and the distinguished presence of
corktrees, gall-oak and oak forests, and linked brush like “Erica”
or “rockrose” can be found.
In
this area, classified as SPAB (Special Protection Areas for Birds),
we can find resident birds (as for example griffon vultures), and
migrants (as for example short-toed eagle, black stork, sparrow
hawks, buzzards, etc.)
“La
Ahumada” has several paths for hiking, cycling, which will allow to
find uniques and special places in this natural area. Some ways are
possible to go trough by car.
There
are approximately 40 houses in “La Ahumada”, dispersed over the
public mountain. The distance between our houses and Tarifa is around
12 kilometers.
Tarifa
city is on the southern point of mainland Europe, where the Atlantic
Ocean and the Mediterranean see are geographically divided, on the
half of the famous Gibraltar Strait. Tarifa
boasts a long history that is reflected in its architecture, such as
the Castle of “Guzmán el Bueno”, medieval city walls, morish old
city, roman ruins of Bolonia and prehistoric dolmens.

Archaeological remains of the Roman City of Baelo Claudia, The only
ancient roman city that keeps fully the mean square. During the
summer some representations on the roman theater are performed.
The
Strait Natural Park, which offers beautiful landscapes of the
Gibraltar Strait, and the Africa coast; attractive rocky beaches
along its Mediterranean coast, and wide beaches of fine sand along
its Atlantic Coast.
